Recognition and Resolution of Peace Lutheran Church of Tomah

WHEREAS Peace Lutheran Church held its first worship service on July 4, 2010 with 65 baptized members; and,

WHEREAS the people of Peace Lutheran Church opened its charter and formally organized with 94 baptized members on January 16, 2011 and currently has 117 baptized members; and,

WHEREAS Peace Lutheran Church is already supporting the ministry of the La Crosse Area Synod and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America with a commitment of 15% mission support; and

WHEREAS Peace Lutheran Church is committed to Jesus’ mission to the world and is a sign of the Holy Spirit’s power to bring hope and healing out of despair and hurt;

THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the 2011 Synod Assembly of the La Crosse Area Synod joyfully receive Peace Lutheran Church as an officially organized congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and with full voting rights in this assembly and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 2011 La Crosse Area Synod Assembly commend the people of Peace Lutheran Church and the congregations of this synod for their faithfulness in prayers, gifts and tireless work to establish this new congregation.
